LED Lighting for Autos

First of all, many auto manufacturers are choosing to incorporate LED lights into their vehicles right from the start or as an option. For example, headlights and tail lights can now have LED lights instead of traditional halogen lights that have been used in the past. Not only can LED replace the main lamp of the light, which produces the most light in front of the vehicle, but additional, smaller LED lamps can be added to the light fixture for additional brightness or even color.

LEDs can also be used to make vehicles more attractive. You may have seen auto racing movies like the Fast and the Furious before. In those movies, many cars are tricked out with lights that appear underneath the car. These lights are almost always LED based. Car customizers use LEDs because of their powerful brightness available in such a small package. Due to this, they can be attached to the bottom of the vehicle easily. They can also take on just about any shade of color you want. So if you want your car to have a glowing blue light under it, you can have that. LEDs are so flexible for this application, that you can choose to have lights installed that actually change colors and are programmable. If you feel like changing the color, you can.

It isn’t just for the lights under the car that you can use LED’s though. You can incorporate tiny LED lights along the side, front, back or even inside the vehicle if you wish. If it’s Christmas time, you can even use a string of portable LED lights and place a string of lights in your back window for a festive look.

Give Car Audio A Maximum Boost

There are many reasons that could cause such problem. As a car owner, it is your job to have the problem identified before we figure out an excellent solution. But hey, most of the time the problems are the solutions themselves and it’s only a matter of choosing car audio equipment like pro’s do. If you don’t seem to confident by this, then feel free to contact an expert to figure out the problem and solution for you. All right. Let’s begin.

Amplifiers

Technically, an amplifier prepares the source before it’s release through the loudspeakers. By this, source means the kind of music or sound that you want to hear playing over your car audio system. An amplifier is directly connected to a power supply to which audio signal comes from. It’s task is to take full control of the wirings connected to the speakers. How complicated it is on the inside is the total opposite on how it seems for car owners as it readies itself for operation. With easy-to-navigate options and buttons, sound is easily produced.

A good amplifier must able to balance the input (audio) and the output (produced audio), which means it is well compatible to the speakers. Mediocrity of either one of them would only result to poor sound quality.

Loudspeakers

High-quality loudspeakers are usually cone-shaped. It is where sound comes out after thorough balancing of audio signals that occur inside the unassuming wirings within an amplifier. Now, most built-in or factory loudspeakers are not as impressive as aftermarket speakers. Give your car audio’s sound more definition and get clearer audio with precise production of bass sounds. Change isn’t something to be fearful about.

Damper

Now, who says you need to focus your attention solely on car audio equipment in which music is directly involved? Give yourself a breather and focus on another angle. You might just realize that your amplifier and speakers are working in their best condition; it’s only that your car’s interior noise is overshadowing your stereos’ music. What do you say about that? Cars, especially the old ones, tend to produce interior noise resulting from loose grips of car parts that resonates through unpleasant vibration sounds. Fortunately, this can be fix through a “damper.” This can be install in some parts of your car to drop unwanted string vibrations.

Mobile Auto Detailing

Small pumps like the one they mentioned may not be the best choice due to the low-volume, plus low pressure. This particular brand of pump is fine, and decent quality, and perfect for some uses, but perhaps not for washing a number of cars and doing it quickly. Why you might wonder?

Well, if you have low-volume you’ll need higher pressure. If you have higher volume you can get away with lower pressure but you will deplete your tank too quickly, see that problem. It might be better to find a plastic 55-gallon drum and hook it to a Walmart electric pressure washer or one you find at Home Depot since you already have a generator. Generators put out 110, not 12-volts you see.

If you have a generator, why bother going with a 12-volt system which you’d have to run off the vehicle battery? You could start out small as you suggest, however, for the price of a 12-volt pump you could probably buy a cheapo Chinese made pressure washer and then when you upgrade later you could get a full-blown 5hp Honda pressure washer with a 1500 PSI pump and get a 100-gallon loaf tank.

Even if you start out on a shoe string which is perfectly acceptable while you are just getting your feet wet, you still need to strategically think ahead and leave your options open. Please consider all this and think on it.

Tyres for Off-Road Cars

You should think about:

  • How fast you drive
  • The conditions you usually drive on. Think about steepness of the terrain and moisture that may be present.
  • How much stability you will need. The tyre will need to be wider for more stability.
  • Depth of the tread is important. Different tread shapes and patterns are designed for different purposes.
  • Consider the flanges that are required to protect the rim and for a snug fit of the wheel.

Wanli is known as one of the best types of tyres with clever tread patterns to help with off-road travelling. The different designs serve different purposes that could benefit any mountain explorer. Most of the patterns made have been designed to assist with slippery surfaces in conjunction to the type of surface the car will go on. It is a definite must have for anyone who dreams of outdoor adventures and craves the muddy quests.

BF Goodrich is another well-known brand that has impeccable grip on rocky roads. The makers of this product have created a touch sidewall so that the drive can be easier when going around corners and curbs. The treads are exceptionally deep to allow for off-road gallivanting.

Goodyear is another tyre that is at the top of the list for four wheel driving. The material is specifically chosen to add as much strength as possible to last you a while. The material may be heavy but it is definitely worth it in the end. The chunky treads give you that beetle climbing effect that every Jeep owner loves to experience.

You could feel like the modern day Indiana Jones with famous and excellent quality off-road tyres. The adventure starts with you and how far you are willing to push the limits of your car. The right tyres can help you climb those mountains.

Nitrogen Inflation

Nitrogen inflation allows the tyres to lose air at a slower rate. This is possible because the molecules are smaller than regular oxygen which means it’s harder for the gasses to escape smaller gaps in the tyres.

One of the advantages of replacing regular compressed air, which is concentrated oxygen, with concentrated nitrogen is that it won’t cause resistance allowing you to use less fuel overall. This is beneficial since the fuel economy is at its worse and the less fuel we use on a daily basis the better it will be on our pockets.

Nitrogen doesn’t change temperature much when the car is in motion. High temperatures can damage the tread of the tyres plus it can cause wear and damage. The quality of the tyre endures also because the pressure within it doesn’t drop rapidly causing wear on the edges of the tyre.

With this relatively new inflation technique, the tyre and the tread have better grip. The improved grip comes from the strong resistance to pressure leaving the extruding parts to remain “popped out”. The weight of the car plus the motion when driving applies high force on the tyre which leads to deflation.

Nitrogen Inflation is perfect for all weather conditions because of its ability to retain tyre pressure in any temperature. Nitrogen also has less humidity and is less prone to create water inside the tyre. Water and moisture inside the rubber could cause terrible rotting leaving you with a destroyed element that will need to be replaced. Because nitrogen has less moisture in its composition, it is lighter than normal air.

Many racers would choose to have their tyres filled with nitrogen gas because of how light and efficient it will make the racing process. There will be less friction on the track and less wear on unnecessary parts of the rubber.

When choosing different accessories and installations for your car, it is wise to consider those items that will lead you to spend less money in the long run. This means that you need to find parts and components that will allow the car to use less fuel. Nitrogen tyre inflation is a very good option when it comes to being economical as not only is it lighter in weight and light on fuel but it also helps the environment and causes less gas to escape the car.

Custom License Plate Design

The text Should be Brief

The text on the plate should be brief. Others will view your tag from a distance. They may be on the go while viewing your tag. So, each item on the plate should be large enough for immediate legibility and recognition. Moreover, it may be tempting to cram in a lot of information but it will make the tag illegible.

What you need to do is pick the most important things, such as name, tagline or slogan. Ideally, we suggest that you choose only three elements for the plate. In fact, you should choose less than 3 items, especially if you have a powerful, well-designed logo or other symbol that identifies you.

Make Your Design Simple

For graphics, we suggest that you go for a simple version of the artwork. Keep in mind that it should be read from a distance. Too much detail may make it look muddled. Instead of a few small art pieces around the tag, you can opt for a big graphic.

If the name of your organization is composed of several words, we suggest that you choose two or three words that identify your organization. You don’t have to use all the words. If you have to use all of the words, we suggest that you bold two or three words and leave the rest in small.

Working With Type

For typeface selection, we suggest that you opt for bold typeface. Ideally, you should go for typefaces that can condense properly if needed. They should remain legible and should not look distorted. So, these are a few tips that you may want to consider when working with type.

Available space

If you really want to condense type, we suggest that you don’t condense it too much, especially if you want to condense the type electronically. Overdoing it can make it look squished or distorted. Moreover, it will be more difficult to read and the image will be unprofessional and amateurish. To get the most out of the available space, you may want to choose only the words that are needed. You have to use your common sense and don’t let things become distorted.

Window Tint Laws

California

Well known for strict safety regulations, especially as it relates to motor vehicles, the Golden State has one of the most onerous window tint laws in the country. As with most states, the back side windows and the rear window are not subject to any restrictions on darkness, but they cannot be more reflective than a standard screen, meaning that a mirror finish will get you a ticket in a hurry. California only allows non-reflective darkening on the top four inches of the front windshield and the front side windows, and the cover must allow at least 70% of the light through. If you get pulled over for a violation, the first offense is a fairly minor affair. The police will cite you with a “fix it” ticket, requiring you to bring the glass into compliance within a specified period and pay a nominal $25 fine. If you fail to comply with this initial citation, however, the second stop could cost up to $200.

Michigan

Up in the Great Lakes state, the northern sun can hit you right between the eyes in the summer. But you’ll have to invest in a pair of polarized sunglasses if you want to completely block it out. Like almost every state, Michigan doesn’t place any restrictions on the level of shading that a driver can have on the rear and back side panels, but it also doesn’t apply its standard as a percentage of sunlight that can be let through. On the front windshield as well as the front side panes, a driver can only have a strip of coverage for the top four inches. This makes the law much easier to enforce since officers don’t have to make a guess of how much light is being let through. Earlier this year, an interstate drug smuggler was busted after he took a ride from Wisconsin, where a 50% standard is used, and he was promptly pulled over. Michigan does make an exception for people with medical needs who are more sensitive than normal to light.

New Mexico

The land of enchantment is also the land of searing desert heat. In the summers, the days can climb well into the triple digits for weeks on end. In that heat, cars sitting out in the sun can become ovens. It’s understandable, then, that New Mexico has the least restrictive window tint regulations in the country. On all sides but the front, a driver’s panes need only let in 20% sunlight, essentially limousine level.

Spruce Up Used Cars

A Warming Or Cooling Seat Pad

Most new vehicles are equipped with seats that will warm up at the touch of a button. This feature can be a lifesaver on particularly cold winter days, and it is considered standard in many recent models. The same effect can be achieved in an older vehicle by purchasing a seat pad. Easy to install, they bring a little luxury to an older automobile. Simply place the pad on the seat and plug it into the 12-volt outlet. Some heating pads even offer cooling settings for hot summer days, which is an amenity not commonly found in brand new automobiles.

Seat Covers

Many used cars can also be spruced up with the addition of seat covers. If the seats seem dirty or worn out, new covers can make a dramatic difference. This small investment can create a whole new feel in an older vehicle. Some seat covers are tailored to a specific make and model, but more generic options can be found at an auto parts store. For large trucks or vans, it may be difficult to find the right covers, so it may be necessary to special order them from a manufacturer.

The Headliner

The headliner, which is the fabric lining the interior roof, can sometimes become dirty or possibly even fall or droop. Even though this can make an automobile appear very outdated, the upgrade to fix this problem is quick and easy. Headliners come in a variety of colors, and some even feature designs for those who wish to customize the interior.

A Fun Hitch Cover

For used cars or trucks that have a hitch, it can be fun to change out the hitch cover. It might not exactly make the vehicle look brand new, but it will help add some personalization. Some hitch covers come in standard chrome. However, they are also available in a variety of shapes and styles including light up options. Some people purchase hitch covers that feature their favorite sports team’s logo or display an image for a cause they support.

Lenso Wheels

The range that more specifically caters for high performance is called the Lenso Project D series. The wheels in this range have been specifically designed for vehicle tuners and racers. The technology in the manufacturing of these wheels accommodates for four wheel drive and rear wheel drive vehicles. Therefore they are suitable for circuit racing, drifting, and drag racing. For added fun there are a variety colours to suit your racing car such as hyper black, gold, red, and silver.

Lenso Project D series’ wheels are made of alloy; which is a very strong material in comparison to their weight. The alloy material tends to be quite light weight and this is a characteristic that is sought after in racing circles. The lighter the overall weight of the vehicle, the quicker it is able to reach higher speeds. If the vehicle is lighter it is able to respond quicker to corresponding driver actions. This could mean the difference between a win or lose in terms of motor racing. Which race car driver doesn’t desire to win?

In addition, the Lenso Project D series’ wheels are durable so they can withstand a lot of racing punishment. They can endure every lap during a race or an evening of repeated drag racing. Plus they give your car more brake clearance ability and deceleration which is necessary when you are competing with other cars and do not want to crash into them suddenly. They also have a more accurate steering response which is essential when you’re racing around tight corners on the race track. Due to their high performance abilities and technological advancements they have been adopted by many motorsport teams as the wheel of choice.

Before Buying a Double DIN Head Unit

The universal Cable or ISO

Just so you know, all car radios that are purchased come with a universal cable or ISO. But many experts who manufacture cars of many different brands claim that the connector that is convenient is not the ISO. So to connect any double DIN head unit to the car, you should buy the adapter cable which any workshop that install stereos will provide. Not only does it cost a lot, but also you need to throw away some stuff to put it in position. It costs between 10 and 20 Euros.

The frame

All car radios are manufactured in 2 types of different standard: 1 DIN or 2 DIN standard which is the largest. The problem here is that car manufacturers put in the car a radio that, in many cases, does not follow the size standard that I mentioned earlier. The result is that if you want to change it, you may have a gap in one of the sides of the radio. This is no problem because plastic frames are made for all car models and they fit almost any type of car radio even if it is 1 DIN or 2 DIN head unit. The only downside is that we have to invest more. Fortunately, it is not much. Maybe it is just 10 or 15 Euros, but you have to add it to the price of the 2 DIN head unit.

The 2 DIN head unit can be controlled from the steering wheel?

Many cars have the cool steering wheel with which you can control the car radio by the radio buttons. But if you change the radio into a double DIN head unit, forget about it unless you buy the adapter cable for it. This adapter, so-called interface, is more complex than a simple cable. The only drawback is that this interface costs money. If your car is new maybe it is worth making the investment. But if the car is old and you are thinking about changing it, I do not think it is worthwhile to buy the adapter. Many radios which are in the box or can be purchased separately have a small remote control that is placed on the steering wheel. It is not only very comfortable but at least you do not have to be turning the head to touch a button.
